#100 Eagles - Hotel California

First Thoughts:
Well at least I start by showing my ignorance straight away. I have no idea who Eagles are, and I have never heard of the album Hotel California. The Album artwork seems pretty though. haha. Okay so wikipedia tells me Eagles are from Los Angeles, California and this album, released 1976,  has sold over 16 million copies in the US alone. I've found the album on spotify so here goes.

----

Pretty quickly I realised that I had heard the album title song "Hotel California" before. I guess its one of those that people know but don't know who sang it. I have never heard any of the other songs before but the album as a whole is actually pretty chilled out and reflective.  Its the kind of music you want to sit back inside on a rainy day and contemplate life. It is very american sounding, if that makes any sense. The guitar/drums are quite heavy and dominating although none of the songs are particularly upbeat or "dancey".
Perhaps despite all of this I'm not sure this is an album I will listen to much again. That isn't to say I didn't like the songs, its more that I can't think of an occasion where I would want to listen to this album over something else. For reflective, chilled music I prefer a more dreamy sound than the more heavy tracks on Hotel California.
